The Associated Students election results were announced today after 4,625 students cast their votes online during a 24-hour period.

The new officers are as follows:

PRESIDENT – Deanna Jarquin

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT – Vu Nguyen

VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS AND FINANCE – Matthew Zaleski

VICE PRESIDENT OF FACILITIES AND SERVICSES – Charlie Curtis

DIRECTOR OF LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS – Nick Howell

DIRECTOR OF UNIVERSITY AFFAIRS – Michael Pratt

COMMISSIONER OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS – Oliver Montalbano

COMMISSIONER OF DIVERSITY AFFAIRS – Aaron Thao

COMMISSIONER OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS AND PROGRAMS – Jerad Prevost (write-in)

The Real Food Advisory Measure passed easily with 86 percent of students voting yes, which means that the A.S. will partner with the university to increase the purchase of “real food” by 20 percent by 2020.

Almost every organization on campus received a portion of revenue sharing, totaling up to $63,707. The top three most-funded organizations were the Gender & Sexuality Equality Center, Alpha Phi Sorority and the Computer Graphics Club.

“This year 4,625 students, or 28 percent, voted compared to last year’s voter turnout of 3,910 or 24.6 precent ,” said David Buckley, executive director of Associated Students. “It is one of the highest in the CSUs. We’re all very proud of this achievement.”
