Chico State Women’s Soccer Coming in Strong

Final Score
Final score of the season opener for the Chico State Women's soccer team.

With a lot preparation for the season, the Wildcats came in strong. The starting lineup only consisted of two seniors both defender Jojo Smyth and Cassi Scroggins. But that didn’t drag them down. It was the first collegiate game for Freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Boulton, but she did a great job making four saves throughout the game.

First Half

Kicking it off to a great start, Sophomore forward Pooja Patel scored the first goal only 4:19 into the game. After the Saints fouled, Freshman defender, Erin Woods was able to assist passing the ball to Patel.

The Saint’s fouled five times before the first period was over.
