Wildcats fall to UC San Diego

The Chico State women’s soccer team lost 2-0 to UC San Diego Sunday in San Diego.

After a scoreless first period, Kiera Bocchino put UC San Diego ahead with a goal in the 58th minute. Devin Roncoroni added an insurance with a goal in the 78th minute for the Tritons.

The Wildcats had many shots, including four shots on goal, but still couldn’t get the offense going.

“It was one of the better games we have played,” said freshman forward Shelby Lanksbury. “We were working our butts off out there, but we couldn’t finish.”

Goalie Brianna Furner had a pair of saves for Chico State, who fall to 4-6-2 and 2-6-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association with the loss. UC San Diego improves to 5-4-3 and 4-3-3 in the CCAA.
