The Wildcats started their scoring early with a RBI single by junior outfielder Josh Falco, scoring fellow junior outfielder Sonny Cortez in the bottom of the first inning.

Up 1-0, the team would add on to its lead in the third inning when senior shortstop Tony Roque would score on a Seawolf throwing error to make it 2-0.

The very next inning, the ‘Cats would tack on two more runs on another throwing error, and a RBI single by Roque.

Junior pitcher Clayton Gelfand would keep the Point Loma University offense at bay for the majority of the game with great command of the strike zone. The Seawolves threatened to score in the eighth and ninth innings, but were unable bring a run across the plate.

Chico State would cruise to a win to open up the weekend.
