Monday was a day of redemption in the world of Chico State men’s golf.
The No. 6 ranked Wildcat’s came from 10th place in the first round to end the second round tied for third place with Western Washington as they enter Tuesday’s final round in the Otter Invitational at BlackHorse Golf Course in Seaside, Calif.
Alistair Docherty led the team Monday shooting even par in round one and 4-under par in round two, finishing in 2nd place individually.
“Tomorrow as a team we need to stay focused on the shot at hand and not get in our own way,” Docherty said. “We will be trying to catch the number one team in the nation, Barry University, who is in second place after Monday’s play.”
To assist Docherty in achieving this goal is Will Flitcroft, Brendan Warner, Lee Gearhart and Ricky Owaki.
Chico State will play the final round of the Otter Invitational Tuesday.
