Chico State women’s golf ended Monday’s first round of play with a carded 24-over par 312, leading them to a tie for fifth place with Western Washington.

The ’Cat’s are competing in a 13-team field during the Sonoma State Fall Invitational at Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club.

Senior Sarah McComish is on the leaderboard with her 1-over par 73 to put her in a tie for third place.

“I played pretty consistent all day being 1-under par in the first 13 holes,” McComish said. “We are excited to bring our best to Tuesday’s play.”

To join McComish in play were Wildcat’s Heather Fegley, Dani O’Keefe, Spencer Downey and Abbey McGrew, who all finished above 40th place in a 70-golfer field.

The final round of the Sonoma State Fall Invitational will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
