Senior catcher Brynn Lesovsky hit the second home run of her softball season, driving in three runs and winning the third game of the away series 4-2 against the Cal State Stanislaus Warriors.

Chico State split the first two games on Friday, but took the lead 2-1 in the four-game series with the win on March 26.

The Wildcat softball team has proved more successful away than at home. This win advances the team’s away record to 11-4 compared to 8-6 at home.

With two runners on base and the score tied at 1-1, Lesovsky scored three runs in just one crisp out-of-the-park swing. This advanced the score to 4-1.

Cal State Stanislaus scored an additional run in the bottom of the sixth inning, but could not gain enough momentum to take the score. Lesovsky’s three-run blast proved to be essential to the Wildcats’ success.

This home run ties Lesovsky with teammates junior outfielder/infielder Cyrena Taylor and senior infielder Desiree’ Gonzalez for most home runs on the team this spring.

Since her first year, each season Lesovsky has hit a home run for the Wildcats. She ended last spring with three total home runs, the fourth best on her squad.

This impressive hit against Cal State Stanislaus makes her two runs away from beating her personal record.

The Wildcat softball team faces another string of games in Turlock for the Cal State Stanislaus Tournament of Champions April 1-3. They will face other competitive Division II programs including Academy of Art and Hawaii Pacific.
