It was a humbling couple days for the ’Cat’s, as things didn’t go
quite how they had hoped during their fall season closer.
The men’s golfers
placed seventh Tuesday with a collective 36-over par in the Otter Invitational at BlackHorse
Golf Course in Seaside, Calif.
Things were looking bright turn for Chico State after the second round of play Monday, collectively shooting a strong 1-under par 287, but they had a hard time continuing the momentum in Tuesday’s final round.
Alistair Docherty ended the tournament tied for eighth, Lee Geahart tied for 25th, Will Flitcroft tied for 34th, Brendan Warner finished 45th and Ricky Owaki tied for 70th.
Chico State will work extremely hard over the next four months to climb their way back toward the top when they resume play in the spring at the Coyote Classic in San Bernardino on Feb. 24.
