Thursday Night Market celebrates 20 years

With the taste of fresh fruit and sounds of live music in the mild spring air, the Thursday Night Market opened April 7 in downtown Chico.
This marks the 20th anniversary of local Chico businesses and farmers working with each other to put on this event.
“I love it,” said Miracle Odurukwe, a participant of the market. “I go to the Saturday one, but I like this one better because I feel like the spirt here is more communal and people hang out.”
Stephanie Yunker, the community events and marketing director of the Downtown Chico Business Association, thinks the market is great for Chico.
“I really think it brings our community closer together, it makes everybody stronger,” Yunker said. “I think it gives people something to do in a public area which is really important for our community right now.”
The Thursday Night Market is open from April 7 to Sept 29.
