Chico State students warned of possible gunman, alert lifted
A text message was sent out to Chico State students this morning from Chico Police alerting people to be on the look-out for a possible gunman.
The alert was lifted at about 11:30 a.m. The new text alert read, “A call into police was was investigated and found to be unsubstantiated.”
Police received a call warning of a possible shooter heading towards Chico High School. The high school as well as three other schools in the area were put on lockdown.
The lockdown on all of the schools have been lifted. Chico State was never put on lock down.
