Every player on the Chico State roster contributed to the scoring column in the men’s basketball team’s 95-51 win over Simpson University Nov. 28.

Ten on the roster scored, but five stood out by breaking into the double digits. Junior forward Isaiah Ellis took elevated his game from behind the arc to a season-high 21 points on four three-pointers.

Chico State relied on Ellis to score from every inch of the court, which he easily delivered. After sinking eight of 11 attempts and fighting for four boards, Ellis managed to give the Wildcats fastbreak opportunities with two steals.

Ellis was not alone at the arc, as sophomore guard Nate Ambrosini sank four shots from deep to score 14 points. Ambrosini was instrumental in getting the Wildcats possessions, with four steals and two rebounds.

First-year center Justin Briggs was unstoppable in the paint as he made six shots on eight attempts and came away with 12 points. Along with his massive point production, Briggs also snagged eight rebounds and protected the rim for Chico State with a block.

Accompanying Briggs inside was sophomore forward Marvin Timothy, who made 11 points and grabbed five rebounds in the game. Timothy also had one steal in the game during his 25 minutes on the court.

The final double-digit Wildcat scorer was sophomore guard Joseph Lynch, who took advantage of the charity stripe. Lynch made six shots from the free throw line to earn 10 points in the game.
