Chico State sent out over 15,000 letters of acceptance for first-time freshmen.

According to the Director of Admission, Adam Stoltz, Chico State admitted 15,468, first-time freshmen for the fall semester.

The office of admissions does not anticipate anywhere near that many student attending though.

“Our yield is typically around 17 to 19 percent,” said Stoltz.

The Office of Admissions is targeting 2,800 first-time freshmen in the fall, and an additional 1,800 transfers, according to Stoltz.

The average freshman has a 3.44 GPA, 1023 SAT score and a 22 ACT score, according to the Office of Admissions.

Over the past two years, Chico State has received approximately 23,000 applications, while only 15,000 received acceptance. This gives Chico State a 63 percent acceptance rate for freshmen.
