Monica Gonzalez,19, a Chico State sophomore majoring in animal science died May 4.
Monica came to Chico State from Long Beach.
Professor Cindy Daley stated in a news release that Monica was a city girl, who was now in a rural community to pursue her lifelong passion of becoming a small-animal veterinarian.
Daley described Monica as a well-organized incoming freshman.
“She was a self-starter, one of the few incoming freshmen to bring me a well thought-out list of classes she needed,” said Daley.
The cause death is not known at this time. The University flag will be lowered May 11, in her honor.
