Chico State plans to replace Siskiyou Hall.
According to the Feasibility Report, Chico State will break ground on the new Siskiyou II Science Building in Jan. 2018.
The second phase of the process includes tearing down the existing building, bike lot and passenger loading areas to make way for the 4-floor building, in the heart of Chico State.
The new building will be dedicated to creating a sustainable environment that promotes putting science on display, community interaction, and hopes of becoming the science hub of the region.
Physical and life sciences will be offered in the building as well as a conjunction of psychology and biology, to create a neuroscience discipline.
The building is planned to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification and scheduled to be completed by July 2020.
There will be a Town Hall meeting discussing the plans that students are invited to attend on August 28th in Kendall Hall, room 207/209.
