Chico State awaits action from the White House on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

According to a press release from President Hutchinson, the college will continue to support all undocumented students while awaiting federal action on the program.

DACA provides opportunity for students who pass background checks to temporarily pursue their education, without fear of being deported. At this time, the Trump administration is discussing what protections to continue to offer students receiving the program.

The decision will directly affect over 800,000 recipients.

“Please remember to take care of each other by lending a supportive ear to those who may be feeling the stress that uncertainty may cause,” Hutchinson reminds students in a campus wide email.

“Together, we will find a path forward.”
