The Chico State men’s basketball team cruised over Humboldt State on Saturday night, winning 74-36.

Although there was a huge crowd at Acker Gym, there was little to no competition in the game, as the Wildcats took control early. By halftime, the score was 34-18, and the Wildcats never looked back.

Senior guard, Jalen McFerren connected on five 3-pointers scoring 19 points. McFerren’s most memorable play of the night, however, occurred during the beginning of the second half. He made a pump fake and finished with his left hand at the basket, bringing the crowd to their feet.

Nate Ambrosini also connected on three 3-pointers, and senior Corey Silverstrom added 10 points as well.

Wildcats center, Justin Briggs had a huge block in the first half and finished the second half with a massive dunk to send the crowd into a frenzy and ultimately seal the game for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats play next on Jan. 26, at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The ’Cats previously lost to the Toros at home on Dec. 31, so they will look to bounce back.
