Man threatens K-mart employees with BB gun, steals jewelry

A man shoplifted approximately $12,000 worth of jewelry at the K-mart located on Pillsbury Road on Monday around 5:18p.m.

According to a Chico Police Department press release, the K-mart employees confronted the suspect when he then suddenly waved out what seemed to be a handgun.

The suspect fled the store, but was later on located and arrested at his residence. He was identified as Philip Walton.

A Chico police officer found the handgun used in the robbery, where it was then discovered to be a replica BB gun.
