The Wildcat men’s basketball team beat Seattle Pacific University in the Carl’s Jr. Mac Martin Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.

The Chico State men’s basketball team lost another tough game Thursday night against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos by a final score of 67-64.

The ‘Cats shot 42.31% from the field the first half, while the Broncos shot 50%. But Chico State found itself only trailing by two points at halftime, 29-31.

The second half was much of the same. Chico State shot 40% from the field and were 1-12 from the 3-point line. The ‘Cats were a combined 4-23 beyond the arc.

Once again, it was a close game toward the end. Chico State’s Sean Park had 16 of his team-high 24 points in the second half. And with 2:07 left, Park tied the game up at 62-all with his 3-point play.

Amir Carraway shot a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it wasn’t enough as Chico State would suffer its second loss in a row. This is the ‘Cats first losing streak of the season.

Chico State falls to 11-4 overall and 7-4 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The ‘Cats will attempt to get back in the win column as they face Humboldt State on the road Jan. 25.
