The Chico State men’s basketball team ended its losing skid in good fashion against the Humboldt State Lumberjacks Saturday night with an 82-70 victory.

Rashad Parker had a game-high 28 points, while Sean Park and Jordan Semple both added 15 points of their own. Semple also had a double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds.

Parker scored 17 points in the first half. Making three of his five 3-pointers contributed to a ‘Cats 26-10 run to end the first half and go into halftime leading 43-32.

Chico State shot 48.2% from the field, while Humboldt State only shot 36.5%. The ‘Cats outscored the Lumberjacks with points in the paint 32-20.

In the second half, Chico State would not be stunned again and held the lead the entire half. The largest lead of the night was 56-40 with 13:37 play. The ‘Cats would win with ease in Lumberjack Arena which is one of the toughest places to play.

Chico State improved to 12-4 overall and 8-4 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The next four games will be at home for the ‘Cats starting with Sonoma State on Jan. 31.
