The smell of the ocean tickles your nose, you open your eyes…there is no water, but a burrito sits in front of you. Sushi you whisper. Sushi?

I recently discovered sushi burritos. I had never heard of these apparent classics. It is like any other sushi roll but uncut, so you can pick it up and eat it like the savage you are.

These burritos can be found at quite a few restaurants around Chico. I tried my first at Sushi King. I had the veggie protein burrito.

It was a very foreign thing to my mouth. I had no experience with sushi rolls to begin with. However, it was an interesting surprise to my pallet.

The orange sauce that came with the dish was awesome. Once drizzled over the roll it made the veggies and rice delicious.

However, I made the mistake of taking it home and putting it in the fridge for a few hours. The seaweed had all but completely melted, no longer holding anything in place.

The strawberry boba tea I ordered was wonderful, the best boba I have had so far. I later regretted only ordering a regular size.

Overall, I would be willing to try sushi burritos again.
