The Chico State men’s basketball team won a tough game against rival Sonoma State by a final score of 76-68.
Jordan Semple scored a game-high 25 points for the ‘Cats. Coming off the bench Semple also had six rebounds, blocked three shots and dished out three assists and two steals.
Despite shooting 54.17% from the field for Chico State compared to 41.67% for Sonoma State, the ‘Cats only led by four at halftime, 38-34.
Amir Carraway chipped in 17 points of his own, shooting 5-of-7 from threes. Both Giordano Estrada and Rashad Parker had 10 points for Chico State as well.
There were a total of nine lead changes until the second half began and Chico State went on a 10-0 run early. The ‘Cats would not let the Seawolves take the lead the rest of the game.
Chico State moves to 13-4 overall and 9-4 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The ‘Cats will face another rival as they host San Francisco State Saturday night.
