A Sacramento resident was arrested on charges of first-degree residential burglary of an occupied home on Sunday.
On Sunday morning at approximately 5 a.m. police responded to a call on Fourth Street, according to Chico Police Department’s news release.
Through the investigation, it was suspected that a male subject had broken into the residence of a 21-year-old Chico State student and stole several items. The victim confronted the male when she awoke and found him sleeping in her bed next to her, nude.
There was a massive search that was conducted between Chico State’s University Police Department and the CPD through the south side of campus. A male subject, now clothed, was suspected via the descriptions that the victim provided and was preparing to leave in a vehicle that was located on 2nd Street and Hazel street.
The man was identified as 19-year-old Jaquane Baldwinbadger of Sacramento, California.
Chico Police’s public information officer could not provide new and recent information on the incident. When reached for comment, the sergeant on duty could not currently provide more information on this case.
Chico Police encourages citizens to increase their safety and security by locking doors and windows to their residence whenever possible.
