The Chico Police Department confirmed one person died of gunshot wounds yesterday after being transferred to a local hospital by emergency medical responders.

An urgent report made at 12:25 p.m. summoned first responders to the Motel 6 located at 665 Manzanita Ct. Upon arrival, medics identified gunshot wounds on the victim.

This investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
