Orionites work 10-20 hours a week on the paper, but increasingly, they must also take part-time jobs. Most of our reporters and editors also have a full load of classes. That’s why The Orion is asking loyal alumni and passionate supporters to donate up to $500 toward leadership awards. Your money will ensure that student journalism at Chico State remains independent, vigilant and quality-driven. Donations of any amount will be accepted and acknowledged. About the Orion: 

The Orion is Chico State’s independent student newspaper. For 45 years, The Orion has served the Chico community as a public watchdog and community storyteller. In 2005, the Associated College Press recognized The Orion’s decades-long, award-winning excellence by declaring it an All-American Hall of Fame recipient. The Orion publishes online from the basement of Plumas Hall.
