Student reports sexual harassment in Meriam Library

Students and UPD respond and react to the sexual harassment that occurred in Meriam Library.

Meriam Library contacted the University Police Department reporting a sexual harassment incident involving a female student and a male adult on Feb. 14 at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The student reported to the police that while she was studying, the suspect was staring at her and touching his groin area, according to the UPD news release.

After noticing the male, the student went directly to the library staff and informed them of the situation. The library staff made sure the student was in a safe place before contacting and reporting the situation to UPD. Officers were on the scene within one minute of the report.

The suspect, who was confirmed to be Dangelo Lynch, was seen on video surveillance footage in the library removing himself from the area and leaving campus after the situation was reported, according to the news release. 

Sightings of Lynch on campus can be reported to UPD. They would like to contact him, according to the news release.
