’Cats cruise to victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills

The Chico State men’s basketball team won in dominating fashion Saturday night against Cal State Dominguez Hills by a final score of 85-60.

The ‘Cats had five players in double figures at the end of the night while the Toros only had two.

Sean Park led Chico State with 19 points and Rashad Parker put in 14 of his own. Jordan Semple had 12, while Giordano Estrada dropped 11 points.

Drew Kitchens came off the bench and scored 10 points, eight of those during a 25-6 run for Chico State that put the score at 32-13 during the first half.

By halftime the ‘Cats were leading 50-25. Chico State shot an astounding 64% from the field the first half and 70.59% from beyond the arch.

The biggest lead for Chico State came in the second half as it led Cal State Dominguez Hills by 31 points at the 17:28 mark when the score was 58-27.

Five out of the last seven games for the ‘Cats were decided by one possession. Chico State only has four games left in the regular season.

Chico State improved to 17-5 overall and 13-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The ‘Cats will finish up their regular-season road schedule next weekend at Cal State Monterey Bay Friday night and Cal State East Bay Saturday.
