Kicking Off the Semester with Fall Intramural Sports

As the 2023 fall semester kicks into high gear, the Wildcat Recreation Center is buzzing with students eager to participate in the university’s intramural sports scene.

With the first season of intramurals just around the corner, enrollment is skyrocketing. Season A, which is currently underway has signups for flag football, volleyball, and indoor soccer.

Indoor soccer is the first sport to begin with signup closing on Sep. 14, at midnight. There is a maximum of six teams and an entry cost of $30 for each team.

Games are held every Tuesday on the MAC Court with different time slots beginning Sept. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.

As for volleyball, registration ends midnight, on Sep. 14. Games are played Monday and Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. There can be up to 12 teams and registration is $15 for each team.

Flag football is the last season- An intramural sport that is played, with sign-ups closing Sep 8.

People can sign up as part of a fraternity, sorority or no organization. Games will begin on Friday, Sep. 22, from 3 to 6 p.m. as well as a game the following Tuesday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Signups are $30 for each team.

Season B promises just as much excitement kicking off with indoor soccer.

Indoor soccer has registration open until Oct 19 with a max of six teams. Games will begin Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be an entry cost of $30 for each team.

As for season-B volleyball, games will be held Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 6. to 9 p.m. Registration closes Oct. 19, and can have up to 12 teams sign up.

To wrap up the fall semester of intramural sports there will be eight teams of 3-on -3 basketball at the WREC. Each team entry fee is $15.

Signups end Oct 19, and games will be played Tuesdays every week.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just looking to have some fun and meet new friends, Chico State’s intramural sports program has something for everyone.
