Spring break may quiet the campus, but Chico still has plenty going on, from St. Patrick’s celebrations and music concerts to art workshops and street fairs. Chico’s events this week offer plenty of ways to get out and explore the community during the March 17 through March 23 break.
Tuesday, March 17
St. Paddy’s Day at Duffy’s Tavern
Time: 1 to 9 p.m.
Location: Duffy’s Tavern
Prepare for a full day of St. Patrick’s Day fun with 8 hours of non-stop Irish rock by The Pub Scouts. The iconic duo Jimmy Fay and Dana Olsen will deliver a performance that will have you raising your glass all night long.
The Saviors of New York and Flume Street Station
Time: 7 to 11:45 p.m.
Location: Argus Bar + Patio
The Saviors of New York and Flume Street Station perform a high-energy mix of post-rock and folk-indie-Americana for a St. Patrick’s Day show. Tickets are available online or at the door for $10. The event is for ages 21 and older.
Wednesday, March 18
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Lost on Main
Banjo, fiddle and plenty of energy take center stage as Magoo performs a lively progressive bluegrass show. Tickets are $18. The event is for ages 21 and older.
Thursday, March 19
Too $hort: Live
Time: 8 p.m.
Location: Tackle Box
Get ready for a huge night of West Coast rap as legendary artist Too $hort takes the stage with his iconic hits at Tackle Box Bar and Grill, with tickets available online and entry open to ages 21 and older.
Workshop: The Art of Tea & Watercolor
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Museum of Northern California Art (monca)
Create your own tea blend and try guided watercolor painting in this relaxing workshop. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online here.

Location: California Regional Theatre
Enjoy the first showing of the award-winning musical based on a hit movie, following Elle Woods and other hilarious characters on her journey from the mall to the courtroom, featuring infectious music, big energy, and fabulous hairdos. Tickets range from $27 to $40 and are available online here.
Friday, March 20
Markers Muse Street Festival
Time: 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Location: 603 Orange St.
Maker’s Muse is a free, all-ages street festival celebrating community and local artists featuring live music, vendors, food trucks, art activities, a fashion show, a kids zone and more. The event will be hosted by Marker Radio.

Time: 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Location: Chico Marketplace
The carnival has come to town at the Chico Marketplace, featuring games, rides, food and more! Unlimited ride wristbands are available for $40.

Location: The Barn at Meriam Park
Come raise a glass and enjoy free live music as Emily and Jake of The Gnarly Pints celebrate the release of a new album, featuring fan favorites and new originals. The doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday Night Live: The Jeremy Ryan Band

Location: The Mulberry Music Station Brewery
Kick back and enjoy a lively night of soulful tunes and good energy with a live performance from Jeremy Ryan Band. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $10.

Turn your favorite book into a work of art with rhinestones and craft supplies provided at Miriam Library, and munch on free snacks while you create.
