Ah, it’s that time of the month again. Bills and rent are due and it’s time for me to find out just how much I’ve spent on my weekly Domino’s Pizza binges.
I dread opening the banking app on my phone. Even when I know how much I’ve spent, I still don’t like to see the number.
It’s something I’ve had to come to terms with as I’ve gotten older. I’ve had to think more about the way I spend.
Sure, it’s fun to go out and throw everything on plastic come Friday night. More often than not though, I look the next morning and immediately think about the better uses I could have put that money toward.
When I was a freshman I spent my money without care primarily on Celestino’s pizza, alcohol, and those little powdered donuts. In addition to having way better eating habits, I’ve learned that it’s far more worth it to have twenty extra dollars at the end of the month rather than a few extra drinks at the beginning.
