Chico Police Department

Call Type: Assault/Battery, 7:22 p.m., East 20th Street
A female was in the middle of the roadway on 20th Street. A bystander thought she was trying to stab a man, who attempted to run away from her. She chased after him and he sustained an eye injury in the process.

Call Type: Fight, 1:49 a.m., Oak Street
Fight reported on Oak Street. No weapons were seen, but one person was thrown over a fence.

Call Type: Drunk in Public, 2:02 a.m, West 5th Street
A male subject was outside of an apartment complex yelling for half an hour. He was flagged down by an armed guard and had possibly broken into a vehicle beforehand.

Call Type: Domestic Dispute, 7 p.m., Arcadian Avenue
A male suspect was outside yelling at a female and threatening to kill people.

Call Type: Juvenile Hold, 6:49 p.m., Lassen Avenue
A five-year-old boy was found walking on Lassen Avenue with no parents and appeared to be crying. The mother, who is homeless and “couch surfing,” was found following in a car. Child Protective Services was called.

Call Type: Suspicious Subject, 11:13 a.m., Esplanade
Two shirtless men with a dog were hanging out in front of Gateway Amphitheatre. Staff called police because they wanted the men to move along.

University Police Department

Call Type: Narcotics Violation, 12:40 a.m., Legion Avenue
A narcotics violation occurred at Whitney Hall, but no further action was taken after University Police checked on the incident.

Call Type: Transient Call, 8:37 a.m., West First Avenue
A seemingly homeless man was found sleeping on a bench in front of Laxson Auditorium.
