Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett bring blues to the Big Room

Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett are well-known for their devoted work as members of Little Feat, the legendary band widely-acknowledged for their bluesy Americana rock.

They have been touring together as an acoustic duo since 1999.

Paul Barrere was the guitarist for Little Feat at the time of their classic album, “Dixie Chickens,” in 1972. Lowell George was the leader of Little Feat at the time and was also close friends with multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Fred Tackett. Tackett became a part of the band in 1987.

Now, Barrere and Tackett are playing together, writing songs and touring the country. Together they have recorded and released two live records: “Live From the North Café” and “Live in The UK 2008.”

They have recorded with hundreds of artists, including Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and many more.

Tackett and Barrere will be performing at The Sierra Nevada Big Room tonight beginning at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. This event is open to people of all ages and tickets are $27.50.
