Chico Performances presents rock and blues icon Elvin Bishop, Grammy Award-winning blues singer James Cotton and gospel and blues singer Ruthie Foster.

Bishop, Cotton and Foster join forces to present a night of rock, blues and barroom boogie at 7:30 p.m. March 15 in Laxson Auditorium.

Guitarist Elvin Bishop joined his first blues band in 1963. He has toured with many major names, including Paul Butterfield, The Allman Brothers Band and B.B. King. Bishop has released and contributed to more than two dozen albums during his career. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in 1998.

James Cotton, blues harmonica player, singer and songwriter, has also released more than two dozen albums.

He has worked with many of the most notable blues artists of his time, including Johnny Winter, Muddy Waters and Freddie King as well as other artists, such as Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana and the Grateful Dead.

Musician and singer Ruthie Foster mixes her family’s style of gospel with folk and blues music. She is a Grammy nominee and won the Blues Music Award for Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year in 2010.

Together, these three artists should create an exceptionally entertaining performance that is not to be missed.
