In San Francisco for the Associate Collegiate Press Conference, The Orion brought home awards for ACP’s Best of Show and the California College Media Awards.
ACP awards are nationally recognized. The Orion was categorized under universities with enrollment of over 15,000 students, whereas for the CCMA’s The Orion was placed with universities with less than 15,000 students. This arose from a timing difference with submissions of work from last semester, to the current.

Honorable Mention:
The Orions Editor-In-Chief, Alexa Lima, won first place in the Journalism Association of Community Colleges awards for an editorial she wrote at Southwestern College’s newspaper, The Sun.
