Chico Performances welcomes world-renowned folk singer Arlo Guthrie at 7:30 p.m. April 12 at Laxson Auditorium.
Like his father Woody, Guthrie has been involved with folk music from a young age and is well-known for his many songs protesting social injustice.
Guthrie is best known for the song “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” an 18 1/2 minute spoken blues song about the Vietnam War draft.
The performance, entitled “Here Come the Kids,” showcases Guthrie and several members of his family paying homage to the works that made Woody Guthrie such a influential part of folk music. Arlo Guthrie will also be performing many of his own hit songs.
“An Arlo Guthrie performance feels like a homecoming,” said a review by the Times Union.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the University Box Office.
Premium: $38
Adult: $33
Senior: $31
Student/Child: $25
