After being accepted into all eight Ivy League schools, as well as several other New York State colleges, 17 year-old Kwasi Enin has decided to attend Yale University.
According to The Huffington Post, Enin scored 2,250 out of 2,400 on his SAT and landed acceptance letters from Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania.
An aspiring physician, this young genius clearly has some academic goals he wishes to achieve; but, rather choosing a college solely based on its degree programs or national ranking, Enin’s passion for music urged his final decision.
“I believe that [Yale University’s] deep appreciation and love for music, like I have, was very critical for me deciding to go there,” he told reporters.
As this academic year comes to an end, I think every student should take Enin’s message to heart. Whether they’ll be returning for another round at Chico State or embarking on post-grad life, students should make decisions that will sate their true passions in life.
