The Chico State men’s soccer team finished up its four-game road-trip to start the season with a perfect record by beating Cal State Stanislaus 3-1 on Sunday.
The No. 18 ranked Wildcats successfully got revenge from a bitter defeat last season, when Cal State Stanislaus took the California Collegiate Athletic Association title in a tough battle.
The ‘Cats came out on top this time with a 3-1 victory, but the Warriors got the scoring started in the 23rd minute with a rebound off a penalty kick.
Senior defenseman Jordan Gorman responded with a goal in the 31st minute and Chico State started to roll from that point on.
Chico State took the lead in the 52nd minute when Matt Hurlow got his first goal of the season off an assist from midfielder Luis Martinez.
Martinez would get the assist on the final goal of the game, feeding the ball to J.P. Medina in the 63rd minute.
The ‘Cats will take a 4-0 record back home for the first home game of the season on Friday at 4:30 against UC San Diego.
