Running late to class

Tara Miller

Hitting the snooze button on the alarm seems to plague so many college students. We’ve all done it at some point. But when you hit it one too many times, you’re already 10 minutes late.

Most of us probably have either been in this situation or have been in a classroom where someone is late. I know for me, it gets really annoying when people show up late. There are plenty of excuses to make up, but let’s be realistic, no one likes to be interrupted during class, especially the teacher.

Here are some suggestions I have to making sure this doesn’t become a habit for those late-to-class students:

1. Set your alarm 20 to 30 minutes earlier than intended so that you know you’ll have time to sleep in or get ready.

2. If you know you’ll be more than 15 minutes late, just don’t show up. You can always find a buddy to get the notes from.

3. Set out everything you’ll need the night before, that way you know you won’t forget anything. And plus, you won’t have to spend 20 minutes deciding what to wear since there will be something out already.
