The Chico State men’s soccer team defeated Cal State San
Bernardino 3-0 Friday night putting Sam Evans’ stamp in Chico’s record books.
Friday night marked Evans’ 30th win in the net, a tie for the lead in goalkeeper victories.
The Wildcats got the on the board in the ninth minute with a goal by senior midfielder Tyson Crim on a cross from Octavio Guzman.
The ’Cats controlled the entire match from the get go.
Jake Ward got the second goal for the ‘Cats in the 58 minute on a free kick from 35 yards out.
The final goal of the game came in the 79 minute from Joachim Gasmi, his second goal of the season.
“We were dominant the entire game and had a lot of chances going forward,” Crim said.
The ’Cats improved to 5-2 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. They will travel to San Francisco on Sunday to take on San Francisco State.
