Bill Daniel is bringing his very own photo pop-up show to Chico showcasing pictures taken as early as 1980 on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at The Blue Room Theater.
“I’m asking people to come and use their visual sense in a challenged way,” Daniel said. “I think being able to stop in front of a photograph and really look at it and dive in and explore it— this show is 166 photographs that are presented in an unusual way.”
Daniel has pictures that capture what life was like in the ’80s, ’90s and even today—all on the same camera.
Daniel also brings one main component to his pop-up shows: live music. He expects people to dance.
“They need to leave the house and turn off the TV and get off their computers and stop watching YouTube and start participating,” Daniel said. “This is a place where people can be together with each other and not be isolated by the Internet.”
His overall message through his photographs is liberation— being free. Viewers can vividly see within his images that there is a story.
See for yourself on Wednesday, Oct. 7. at 7 p.m.
