The Chico State women’s soccer team defeated Cal State Dominguez
Hills Friday evening, 3-0.
It marked the second time these two teams have squared off since the ’Cats pulled out a 2-1 victory in their first meeting Sept. 29.
Off an assist from midfielder Torri Sims, Chico State defender Carly Singer punctuated first half action by scoring her team’s first goal at the 23:41 mark of the game.
The Wildcats started the second half with a bang, as forward Scotie Walker scored her team’s second goal with only 2:03 elapsed in the half.
After a yellow card was called on Cal State Dominguez Hills defender Jessica Parker, Wildcats midfielder Danielle Leiva made good on a penalty kick at the 15:37 mark, notching her team’s third goal of the contest.
Chico State continued to lock down on the defensive end, frustrating Cal State Dominguez Hills for the remainder of the second half.
The win against Cal State Dominguez Hills marks the second straight victory for the Wildcats in a month previously marred by a 1-1-4 record.
The Wildcats look to keep their streak alive as they meet Cal State L.A. at home on Sunday. The game begins at 11:30 AM.
