The Chico State men’s basketball team defeated Simpson University on the road
Saturday, 70-47.
The win for the ’Cats came just a week after suffering a heartbreaking overtime
loss against Cal State Stanislaus.
Chico State jumped out to a lead early, maintaining a comfortable buffer with a
spectacular defensive showing in the first half. A buzzer beating layup from Chico State guard Sean Park helped cap off a
10-to-2 Wildcats run in the first half.
After the first 20 minutes of play, Chico State had
accumulated a comfortable 37-25 lead heading into halftime.
Beginning with a quick 5-to-2 run, the ’Cats never looked back in the second half. Forward Jordan Semple chipped in 13 points and center Chris Magalotti
would contribute 12 points of his own on the way to cementing an
end-to-end victory for the ’Cats.
The Chico State men’s basketball team will return home to take on Dominican University of California on
Friday, Nov. 29. The game starts at 7:30pm.
