The Chico State men’s and women’s track and field team held their annual fall intrasquad meet this past week. Through Thursday, many new meet records had been set.
For the women, Amilia Santos set a new meet record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.5 seconds. Santos also won the 150-meter dash with a time of 18.9 seconds.
Aja Erskine matched a record in the 600-meter with a time of 1:39.5. Kasey Barnett also matched a record in the pole vault with a jump of 11 feet, seven inches. Freshman Brooke Whitburn set a meet record in the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 1.75 inches.
The 4x100m team of Santos, Erskine, Barnett and Kym Crosby set a new meet record with a time of 48.5 seconds.
Other wins for the women include Tibire Edwards in the 300-meter hurdles, Jessica Mixon in the high jump and Kapri Madrid in the discus throw and hammer throw.
On the men’s side, three more records were set. Brett Crider set a record in the triple jump with a jump of 44 feet, four inches. Derek Nichols set a record in the discus with a throw of 154 feet, six inches.
The 4x100m team of Teddy Elsenbaumer, Patrick Smith, John Brunk and Adam Nikssarian set a record with a time of 42.1 seconds.
Other wins for the men include Nick Sloggy in the 150-meter, Christian Sanchez in the 600-meter, Elsenbaumer in the 300-meter hurdles, Michael Souza in the high jump, Jackson Price in the pole vault, Mikey Macaluso in the long jump, Dallas Wilson in the hammer throw and David Verduzco in the javelin throw.
The meet continued Friday.
