In Chico over break? Support your Wildcats basketball
As many know, Chico is a quiet, much slower paced and what some could say boring place for students between the time of Winter finals finishing and the start of Spring semester. All regular season games are free with a student ID making it a fun, free hangout and a way to go support your fellow Wildcats.
Here’s a look at the home matchups for Chico State basketball over Winter break.
Tuesday, December 19, 2017. women @ 5:30 p.m. men @ 7:30 p.m.
Simpson University @ CSU Chico – Acker Gym – Chico, CA
Last year, the Chico State men dominated Simpson winning 95-51. Now senior Isaiah Ellis went off for the ‘Cats scoring 21 points in 24 minutes including 4-5 from beyond the three point line.
Friday, December 29, 2017. women @5:30 p.m. men @ 7:30 p.m.
CSU Los Angeles @ CSU Chico – Acker Gym – Chico, CA
This is the first matchup of the year for these two. Last year, then junior Kayla Taylor lead the Wildcats offense to a 66-62 victory scoring 14 points while shooting 7-11 from the field.
Sunday, December 31, 2017. women @ 12 p.m. men @ 2 p.m.
CSU Dominguez Hills @ CSU Chico – Acker Gym – Chico, CA
This will be the first matchup of the year for these two as well. Last year, both men and women came out on top vs. the Toros. Jalen McFerren had a double double for the ‘Cats while on the women’s side of the ball, the bench came up huge scoring 21 points leading them to an 11 point victory.
Thursday, January 11, 2018 women @ 5:30 p.m. men @ 7:30 p.m.
CSU San Bernardino @ Chico State University – Acker Gym – Chico, CA Faculty/Staff Night
The Wildcats had mixed results earlier this year playing in San Bernardino. For the men, they won 83-64 with McFerren, Ellis, Silverstrom, and Briggs all finishing in double-digit scoring with McFerren tallying 11 rebounds as well.
Saturday, January 13, 2018. women @ 5:30 p.m. men @ 7:30 p.m.
Cal Poly Pomona @ Chico State University – Acker Gym – Chico, CA
This will be the second matchup this year against Pomona for the Wildcats this year. Both men and women look to bounce back. The men lost a hard fought game earlier this month to the Broncos that went into double OT by a score of 83-79, while the women lost 50-66.
Saturday, January 20, 2018. women @ 5:30 p.m. men @ 7:30 p.m.
Humboldt State University @ Chico State University – Acker Gym – Chico, CA Alumni Association Night
The Wildcat women look to stay strong once again against the Jacks. They opened the season with a 70-58 win behind Whitney Branham’s 31 point, 6 rebound strong showing. The men won 77-67.
