The Chico State women’s basketball team swept the competition this weekend going 2-0 to improve to 11-5 on the season.
The Wildcats rallied behind junior guard Annie Ward’s big three to prevail over Humboldt State 69-66.
In the first half, the ‘Cats found an early lead 15-2 to only let it slip away and find themselves trailing 43-34 at half.
In the second half, the Wildcats caught on fire with the help of senior guard Jazmine Miller scoring 14 of her 18 points in the second half.
Down two points with little time left, junior guard Hannah Womack found Ward in the corner for an open three which she connected and sealed the victory for the Wildcats 69-66.
The ‘Cats are now 11-5 on the season and 7-5 in conference play. The Wildcats next game is home at Acker Gym against Sonoma State Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m.
