Chico State School of The Arts presents “88 Keys at Chico State” at 7:30 p.m. April 26 in Rowland-Taylor Recital Hall.

Featuring both students and faculty performing solo and ensemble pieces, the evening of classical piano music raises funds to support the Chico State keyboard program.

Natalya Shkoda, coordinator of keyboard studies at Chico State, created the event “
as an evidence of my service to the department, university and community.”

The first section of the performance will feature performances by Shkoda and her students of pieces by Burgmuller, Handel and of course Bach, just to name a few.

Following this, Shkoda will be joined by special guests — professors Yael Ronen on flute and Daun Weiss on soprano.

Performances like this help keep Shkoda’s dream
of forming “a residential faculty ensemble to perform regularly for the university, the community and the region” alive.

Advance tickets, $15 general admission, $13 for senior citizens, and $6 for students and children, are available at the University Box Office, located at the corner of Third and Chestnut streets.

Tickets are also available online or by phone, (530) 898-6333. Add an additional $4 handling fee for phone and online ticket purchases. Add $2 for tickets purchased at the door.
