Voting in A.S. elections isn’t just for weirdos

I don’t have to sit here and tell you that we all need to go vote in elections and participate in revenue sharing and blah, blah, blah, blah.

What I do need to explain to all of my fellow Wildcats is why it’s important to participate in elections.

Whether it’s running for an office or voting itself, turnout has been kind of scarce in the last couple of years.

For instance, the Associated Students had to scramble to find candidates for the senate positions of many colleges.

Wait? You didn’t know that each college has it’s own senator that represents it?

I’m shocked.

Oh, and you also don’t know who’s running this year or how to get involved?

Well, applications are still being taken until March 25 now, so there’s still time until we know who’s running this year (and to participate).

Election day is April 15, so there’s also plenty of time in between those dates to do some research on the candidates.

After all, a smart voter is a good voter, and since elections effects everybody on campus, it’s probably a good idea to be on the smart side.
