A man attempted to rob the Salvation Army on Broadway Street on Dec. 3.
Two Salvation Army Thrift Store employees were closing the store and leaving when they were confronted by a suspect inside the store.
He was in possession of a knife and demanded money from the employees, according to a Chico Police Department press release.
One employee threw a cup of tea at the suspect, causing him to momentarily back away. The two employees were then able to retreat to another room, locking the door behind them.
A search of the business was completed and the suspect was not located inside the building or in the surrounding area.
The suspect is reported to be a white male with a slender build, between 5’10” and 6 feet tall. He was wearing dark clothing during the attempted robbery.
