As the summer comes to a close, what better way to spend the last warm weeks than enjoying a cold beverage, live music and local food vendors?
Jaime Perry, Marketing Director at Deer Creek Broadcasting, discussed the ins and outs of the 2017 Summerfest Chico in the following Q&A:

What is Summerfest Chico?
“Summerfest Chico started four years ago. It’s a celebration of food, music and life in Chico.”
Where is the event?
“At the Elks Lodge of Chico.”
How much are tickets?
Adults (12+) are $10. This includes 10 Food/Non-Alcoholic Beverage samples.
Adult VIP (21+ only) are $35. This includes 10 Food/Non-Alcoholic Beverage samples, admission and the choice of hat or event shirt, VIP tent access across from the stage, and complimentary water and non-alcoholic beverages.
Kids 12 and under are free.
Sampling passes are $5. This includes ten Food/Non-Alcoholic Beverage sampling tickets.
What vendors will be at the event?
“Lagunitas is our beer garden sponsor. We have a fully catered nacho bar from 3 to 9 p.m. There is a wine bar for those 21+.
Some of our top vendors include: Kahuna Brothers Shaved Ice, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Lagunitas Brewing Company.”
Who are the performers?
“Ric and Kara Magic, Chad Bushnell, Madison Hudson Band, Black Slax, Northern Traditionz and Devoll.”

“This year we brought on the Boys & Girls’ Club because they (the club) recently lost $190,000 in funding. We are going to have a children’s area with two bounce houses. We will also be donating $3 a ticket for any block-ticket purchases worth $30 or more.”

“We’ll have a casino-type feel for fun. There will be lots of vendors and good stuff. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair for this. It’s definitely going to be a fun family-friendly event.”
