Tornado and flash flood warnings issued
The Butte County Sheriffs office issued a flash flood warning in effect until 10 p.m Tuesday for west central Butte County, northern Chico and surrounded areas affected by heavy rains.
A tornado warning was issued earlier in the day until 5:45 p.m.

Later, The National Weather Service in Sacramento issued a tornado warning on Twitter around 5 p.m. urging residents in Butte and Glenn Counties, in Hamilton City or Nord to take shelter, The warning is in effect until 10:15 p.m. for north central Tehama and southwestern Shasta Counties.

The storm has since weakened and the tornado warning was allowed to expire, however hail, rain and flooding still remain possible.
