The Chico Police Department arrested a man early Sunday morning when he drove his car into a bridge off of Pine Street.

Police received the call about a single car collision around 12:46 a.m. Police said in a report that the driver swerved off the road and collided straight into the bridge railing.

The 25-year-old driver suffered minor injuries, but his female passenger had to be taken to Enloe Medical Center to treat fractured ribs and neck and back pain.

The driver was arrested and officers are expected to request charges for a felony DUI causing injury.
